On June 13th, 2023, Austin came to my house to fix a trailer. I don't remember exactly what was broken, but Austin said he could fix it, so he drove all the way to Greensboro to work on my trailer.
While he was working, I was sitting on the front porch when a black snake came slithering by.
I remembered that Austin had a fondness for snakes, so I called for him and asked him to come get it and relocate it to the woods at the back of my property. Thankfully, he did with absolutely no hesitation, because I am terrified of snakes.
Austin picked it up and carried it off to the woods.
Problem solved.
Or so I thought.
About 45 minutes later, I was back outside when I saw the snake again.
I called Austin back over.
"Didn't you take that snake to the woods?!"
He looked at it and laughed.
"Ummm...this is a different snake."
Of course it was.
So, for the second time that day, Austin picked up a snake like it was nothing. He let it wrap around his hand and arm and happily carried it off toward the woods, laughing at me as he walked away because I was terrified—even though they were harmless black snakes.
Austin had come to my house that day to fix a trailer, but he also offered a complimentary snake removal.
Two snakes! Just another day with Austin.
